Greetings All!

After 4 months of our first iteration of Lunar Woman Jyotish, we will begin again and continue in this Gregorian New Year.  

Though New Year in the Vedic calendar is in the spring, the year is divided into to two 6 month sections based on the Sun’s movement.  The delicate dance of the Sun and the Moon is what makes the precise timings of the Vedic calendar.  The days begin to get longer from the winter solstice, and the Sun begins its northern movement. The Vedic celebration of this 6 month cycle called Uttarayana starts when Sun moves into Sidereal Capricorn on January 14th.  

Uttarayana is the divine 6 months of the year when the gods rule.  It is said to be when we are more open to grace, and to receive the blessings of the divine. As the expansion of consciousness is greater in this time, it is an ideal time for sadhana, or spiritual practice.

In this 6 month cycle, we will continue to follow the moon and understand the favorable and unfavorable days, and what activities to do when.  

In addition, we will embark together on an optional (but highly encouraged!) mantra practice, designed to initially clear the path, build abundance and finally work with a deity that is most personalized to you.  We will start with a Ganesh Mantra, then work with a Venus mantra for most of the duration of Venus in Pisces, before settling in with a practice designed personally for you!

We will meet twice a month, aligning our sessions with the moon phases. During these sessions, I will share valuable insights based on my years of study to help guide your decisions and timings in everyday life.

This group is designed for those with little or no background in astrology, but beginning students will also benefit from being more in sync with the lunar cycles.

1-hour live sessions (recorded for those unable to attend live).  If your time zone or life does not align with our live sessions you can still greatly benefit from the recordings as well as the bi-monthly calendar of favorable and unfavorable dates sent to your inbox or our What’s App group.

We will meet bimonthly on Mondays at 10 am pacific.

What We’ll Do:

• Observe the phases and movement of the moon, identifying favorable and unfavorable days.

• Discuss the upcoming astrological events for the next two weeks.

• Highlight any important festivals and recommend suitable rituals or mantras.

• Share our experience with the group and check in on our mantra practice.

• Answer questions to deepen our understanding

Puja Offering:

Included in the membership there will also be a monthly live stream of a puja (Vedic ritual offerings with a specific intention), where your name will be added to the intention to receive the benefit of the puja. This month to welcome the New Year we will do a Ganesh Puja and Homa (fire ceremony). This puja is scheduled for Saturday January 11th at 5:30 pm pacific. I will be with the priest in person in Mysore for this one!

The puja is open and free to all.  While all will gain benefit from attending, the main benefit is reaped from those who name is given in the opening prayer.  If you are not a Lunar Woman member and would like to have your name or someone else’s put in the healing intention you can offer a donation here and send me a message here with the name and nakshatra if you know it.  The puja will be 2-3 hours long, and you are welcome to attend part or all of the ceremony.
