This month’s full moon is in the sign of Cancer and culminates on February 12th at 5:53 am pacific, making the approximate 24 hours before the timing of the full moon.
Cancer is a watery sign connected to nurture, comforts, home and emotions. While full moons are typically supportive and connective, especially in the sign of Cancer like this one, this one falls in the very last and unstable degrees of Cancer. This is a lunar house (Nakshatra) called Ashlesha which is connected with serpent energy. Serpent energy has two forms. One is the higher aspect of Naga serpents which are connected to healing, transformation and the kundalini shakti. The lower energy of serpents are sarpas, whose energy is secretive, poisonous, manipulative and insecure.
So much of life and in this case astrology has both sides of darkness and light. While we all have inclinations towards particular directions, we can choose what we will move towards. If negative circumstances present themselves during this full moon cycle, choose the healing potentials that are available during moments of transition. Apply your will to move towards the higher principles instead of falling into lower habits and tendencies.
