A Series of Eclipses

And the Full Moon of Holi<!–

Eclipse season is upon us!

Greetings All,

This Full Moon is a combination of a Lunar eclipse and the annual festival of Holi.  The eclipse window runs from 9:53 pm on the 24th to 2:32 am PDT on March 25th, culminating just after midnight at 12:12 am.

This Lunar Eclipse is visible in North and South America, Europe, East Asia, Australia and New Zealand, though in Vedic astrology it is never advised to look at an eclipse.  Eclipses are ruled by the Nodes, Rahu and Ketu, which can increase our confusion and delusion.

This is the Full Moon of Holi, the famous festival of colors throughout India.  Holi heralds the arrival of spring with enthusiasm and brightness.  The story of Holi is summarized through the triumph of righteousness, harvest and fertility. It is typically a very celebrated and auspicious day, though this year’s interception with the first of 2 eclipses may shadow that.

As eclipses come in pairs, this Eclipse is followed by another Solar Eclipse two weeks later on April 8th.  As a solar eclipse is also a New Moon, here we are combining two events that are less favorable.  This one also passes through many parts of the US. I’ll write more about this as it gets closer, but eclipse windows tend to magnify, so it’s important to be mindful of what we do during the height of the eclipse.

For most of us in the US, tonight’s eclipse will be in the middle of the night.  While the ardent practitioner may wake up and do mantras, the most important thing is to not engage in negative actions during this time. Full moon eclipses tend to be an excess of energy, so it is not uncommon to feel a bit disregulated in the days leading up to and after an eclipse.

Oftentimes eclipses pass with little effect to us personally, but on that occasion that you have felt something significant, it is because of another important line up in your birth chart. Reach out if you would like to examine how this particular eclipse cycle will affect you personally.

Also, Mars and Saturn are conjunct in the sign of Aquarius from March 26th- April 25th, with the exact conjunction on April 10th. Mars and Saturn are very opposite energies which can cause internal and external conflict, especially if Aquarius is a prominent placement in your birth chart.

As always, the best thing to do when the energies are strong within and without is spiritual practice.  It is important during challenging times to focus our mind on our faith and the divine.

I am happy to assist in any way I can in this process.

Love and Blessings,

Mrinmoyee
